The international break has just begun, and Chelsea’s stars have left to represent their countries all across the world. They leave in good spirits after defeating Tottenham and drawing with Manchester City, and some leave on short notice, such as Axel Disasi, who was called up after Ibrahima Konate withdrew from the France squad.
The Blues are well-represented throughout a variety of teams and age categories, with just a small group of players remaining at the club to continue training after a break. However, with the Under-17 World Cup now underway, some Chelsea stars have been on international duty for quite some time.
England began their campaign with a 10-0 victory over New Caledonia, and they will face Iran this afternoon before meeting Brazil later in the week. THE SQUARE CUT looks at the young Chelsea players who are representing England at the Under-17 World Cup.
Ted Curd
In his first stint away from the Blues, the custodian began the season on loan at Hashtag United in the Isthmian League Premier Division. The 17-year-old has been with Chelsea since the under-9 level and helped the Blues win the under-16 Premier League national championships and the under-18 Premier League cup in 2021/22.
Curd has also enjoyed international success, having won the Val de Marne trophy with the Three Lions. He did not play in England’s first game of the tournament, but he hopes to get a chance to show off his shot-stopping and footwork.
