On Friday, Darren Kent, who appeared in “Game of Thrones,” “Dungeons and Dragons: Honour Among Thieves,” “EastEnders,” and other shows, died. He was 36.
His death was confirmed by his talent agency, Carey Dodd Associates, in a tweet on Tuesday.
“It is with great sadness that we inform you that our dear friend and client Darren Kent passed away peacefully on Friday,” the agency wrote. “His parents and best friend were there for him.” In this sad time, our thoughts and prayers are with his family. “Rest in peace, my friend.”
Kent was born and reared in Essex and graduated from Italia Conti in 2007. His breakthrough performance came in the 2008 horror film “Mirrors.” He went on to play a goatherd in Slavers Bay in an episode of “Game of Thrones,” and most recently a reanimated corpse in the 2023 film “Dungeons and Dragons: Honour Among Thieves.”
“Snow White and the Huntsman,” “Marshal’s Law,” “Bloody Cuts,” “The Frankenstein Chronicles, “Blood Drive,” “Les Misérables,” “Green Fingers,” “EastEnders,” “Happy Hours,” “Love Without Walls,” and “Birds Sorrow” are among his other credits.
Kent was nominated for best actor at the Van D’or Awards in 2012 for his performance as Danny, a youngster with a unique skin ailment that prevented him from being in the sun, in “Sunny Boy.” Kent, like his character in the film, struggled with a skin problem, as well as osteoporosis and arthritis. He was also a writer and filmmaker, having directed the 2021 short “You Know Me,” which got him a January Award.
