First ODI of Australia's tour of India in 2023: Match preview, head-to-head, and streaming information

India will play Australia in the opening One Day International of the three-match series tomorrow, September 22, at 1:30 PM IST at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

After winning the Asia Cup 2023, Team India is now concentrating on the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, the greatest prize in cricket. A three-match ODI series against the formidable Australians comes first, which will present the team with another challenge and possibly the best opportunity to practise for the biggest stages of the game. The first two games of the series will be captained by KL Rahul, and the third game will be captained by Rohit Sharma. Additionally, Ravichandran Ashwin will play in his first ODI in more than a year.

Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, and Virat Kohli will all be back for the third ODI. Despite the fact that the test for hitters is still ongoing, India’s bowling unit appears to be in good shape. Mohammed Siraj, Mohammad Shami, and Jasprit Bumrah are leading from the front, and Kuldeep and Ravindra Jadeja are assisting them. India’s minor issues will be resolved in this competition, allowing them to concentrate and be totally ready for the World Cup.

After a turbulent five-match ODI series against South Africa, Australia enters this one. Despite winning the first two games, their situation gradually worsened, leading to a terrible finale. Pat Cummins, who missed the South Africa series, has been reinstated as captain of Australia’s 18-man squad for this series. Because of a left hand fracture sustained in the fourth One Day International against South Africa, Travis Head will miss the World Cup. Head might be replaced in the World Cup squad by Marnus Labuschagne, who had the most runs scored in the South Africa series.Josh Hazelwood, Mitchell Starc, and the rest of the squad will prepare for their biggest challenge in bowling as well, which will help them even more in the main event.

Head-to-Head:

Australia and India have faced off in 146 one-day internationals. India has triumphed in 54 of these 146 matches, while Australia has won 82 of them. Ten games also came to an end without a conclusion.
